Extreme Weather incidents
At Crystal Clear, we pride ourselves on the quality of products we supply, the quality of our installations and the quality of our aftersales service.
All products supplied by Crystal Clear carry a weather rating and a wind load rating. These ratings exist to provide installers and customers with an indication of how they can expect products to behave and the limitations of the products in poor weather conditions.
It is important to remember that door, window and roofing products such as roof lanterns and conservatories are weather resistant, not waterproof. These are designed to withstand the rigours of UK weather and in most situations, will behave exactly as expected.
In cases of extreme weather, these limitations can be exceeded and internal water evacuation systems can be overwhelmed. This can lead to water ingress.
This should not be considered an issue with the product. Water ingress is a sign that extreme weather has exceeded the weather rating of the product and its ability to operate in the correct manner.
An example of this would be products being expected to withstand winds in excess of 75mph with continued prolonged rainfall.
In the most recent event, the UK experienced over a months’ worth of rain in six hours while being battered by 125mph winds. Door, window and roofing products are simply not designed to tolerate this level of exposure and so some level of water ingress is to be expected.
Crystal Clear will always assist where necessary. We would respectfully request that the above is considered before requesting service.
With Kind Regards
The Crystal Clear Team
